Take a picture

Last week, Herston wouldn't let Ethan go to school without taking a picture. Ethan is such a great sport to such a demanding three year old. :)

Weird to think these opposites are brothers. Yet, they are both mine.

Blue Dog

Once upon a time, there was a baby boy. Well, a baby boy and a blue dog. (Ok, a baby boy, a blue dog, and a football, but we never lost the football.)

Blue dog was the best, and it helped the boy take naps in church. In fact, there was times where a grumpy parent would yell, "Get me the blue dog!"

One day, blue dog went missing.

And naps during sacrament stopped.

Luckily for mom, the boy took a nap during church for the first time in almost a year yesterday.

Afterwards, the mom walked past the lost and found and saw blue dog.

Now mom and boy are happy again!

Field Trips

The school kids get so mad when we tell them what Herston and I did that day.

They have forgotten that we did weekly visits to the zoo and Children's Museum for each of them.

Nonetheless, it is great to see Herston's excitement. I have slowed down and let him set the pace.

I am not in any rush.

Family is love

I see patients at their worst. Illness is the great equalizer. Everyone looks the same in a hospital gown with an emesis basin. I can't tell their education or bank account size.

What matters?

Family.

Are they present? Did they put them on a ventilator and walk away?

Are there family meetings?

Is there love?

We are at war and this is my army

I have truly been blessed for my angels.

In a recent article in the March Ensign, it gives 5 parenting strategies (really a good read.)

I pray I can stay the parent my kids need me to be.

Loving so much it hurts.

Fishing

If fishing is judged by the amount of family time together, we were successful.

One of the best parts of camping

Friendship bracelets. Lots and lots of bracelets.

Show Stopper

Maybe it is her competitive nature. Maybe it is because she has been playing on teams since she was three. Or maybe it is because of her mother, but this girl is one STELLAR athlete!!!

I was a part of a successful neighborhood league created for me and my neighbors that just recently ended.

I got goosebumps watching this girl play. Amazing.

Homework Overload

After a long homework session, I secretly began video tapping Raea to later show her how crazy she had gotten. I love her.

(We later found out her teacher did NOT want her to reduce fractions yet. It was a new concept to learn later.)

Penguin Night

"Why don't you want to go to Antarctica?

"It doesn't support life well. It is too cold. I would surely die!"

Nap Time

If you look through any of my photo collections, you are bound to see several pictures of sleeping babies. Nothing is more precious to me than a sleeping child.

My Boys

Worried because it was getting late, I went downstairs to wake up Ethan. (They do so much better without an alarm clock.)

Much to my happiness, I came upon story time.

Love them all.
