Must be that time of year

Oh, and a lot of swimming and lounging pool side.

Sigh...

So my phone has been docked and playing my Enya station on Pandora. Televisions have been temporarily turned off. A lot of reading and cuddling on the couch. It has helped make up for the last semester. Life has been good. And I sewed Larissa another skirt by cutting the sleeves and adding elastic to a shirt not being used. You should have seen her wearing this while riding her bike.

Therapeutic Sewing

A friend of mine from high school recently passed away. In an effort to relax and reflect, I started sewing yesterday. I stopped sewing because it was getting so expensive to buy fabric, and I could just get a $5 outfit for my kids at Walmart. I was motivated by Grant's cousin in law, crap to craft. This is just an old shirt that was too big that I turned into a cute skirt for Raea. (Please excuse the camera phone picture quality; it is really cuter than the picture gives credit for.) Not to be out done, Larissa wanted an outfit, too. This was so easy because it was just the sleeves for the shirt and another sleeve for the skirt. I didn't even have to hem it. Sure it is probably going to just be a play dress, but she loves it. Larissa's yoga band skirt was loosely based off this tutorial.

Home

When we finally arrived back home after the super long car drive, the kids fell to the ground on our grass. It was a lot of driving, but they did pretty good. Next year we have to meet in the middle.

Natural History Museum

The Sam Noble Museum of Natural History was a great stop.

We saw their famous bison. Ethan spent time digging. And Larissa got pampered.

Buffalo Springs at The Chickasaw National Recreation Area

The Chickasaw National Recreation Area also offers two natural springs, Buffalo and Antelope, on trails originally maintained by the Civilian Conservation Corps. There was some fun stone work from 1930s.

Bizzell Memorial Library

Bizzell Memorial Library, at OU, is the coolest library ever with some really old books! My kids commented that it looked like the library in Harry Potter.
