Just Taking A Break
Anyway, as I am prepping for my Post-Master's Certification, my practicum presentation, and stuff for the kids, we get sick. Herston and Larissa have pneumonia. (I think Ethan does too, but he never got an xray.) Luckily, my antibiotics are working, and I can breathe again.
Every couple of months, we get sick, hospitalized, or something else. My friend laughs. She says it is Heavenly Father's way of telling us to slow down.
The message of the day: Enjoy your "busy-ness".
*In 1968, nurse theorist Margo McCaffrey stated, "Pain is whatever the patient says it is, and exists whenever they say it does."

Bike Rider
I always imagined running along side her as she slowly slips away only to realize that she can do it all by herself, but comforted by her mother's presence.
The other day, my brother of few, but poignant words told me to bring Raea over. He told her to get on the bike. "Now pedal." It was less than 30 seconds, and now she won't get off. This is her riding her bike to church in a skirt.
She created a contract with Grant (3 perfect spelling tests, 5 books read, 5 yard cleaning days, and a clean room), so she can get a new bike. I have never seen a kid work so hard.

Why I Work
"At a time when a lot was at risk for my family, you made me feel calm and very well taken care of."
